Guys, look at the port. Look at the plug in your hand. Align correctly and insert. It's visibly obvious what the orientation should be if you just look at it.
I haven't had this issue for years, and I plug in USB-A cables every day. You just learn what orientation the ports are on your device, charger brick etc. and know what way the cable should be. It's not hard.

I hate this meme. Every USB ever has the little logo on it that tells you which side is up.
