What Apps Are Missing on Mobile Linux?

cross-posted from: https://sh.itjust.works/post/28677404

Hey everyone, I'm going insane due to a lack of creative project. I've written an app already but I haven't gotten around to publishing it yet. I'd like to know what kind of apps you'd like to see created for mobile Linux. I prefer easier, bite-sized projects over particularly large ones, but I'd love to hear your ideas nevertheless.

Rather than app, the top feature I'd say is:

  • the ease/accessibility in installing on any modern smartphone disregarding the need to buy a Linux specific & compatible smartphone

The most important ones that come to my mind:

  • Maps (like Google Maps, just FOSS) ideally with transportation routing for every country. This could be a lot of work and is definitely not a "small project".

  • Browser (like Firefox). Like 50% of everything I do happens through the browser.

  • File Explorer, PDF viewer, ...

maybe some puzzle games to play when bored. I don't really use much else.

Oh and a Youtube alternative would be nice, but not necessary. You can already visit some through the browser.

Firefox is available for PostmarketOS, it's almost fully usable.

Biggest complaint and why I see folks using waydroid is for banking apps.

My bank has mobile web version. I was surprised by this.

The only app keeping me from throwing my Android phone to trash is Kore to share media URLs directly to Kodi on my TV.

https://github.com/rikardwissing/webextension-sendtokodi/ I think it is possible to share URL without Kore.

Technically, it is already here. However, the UX of the desktop client is awkward.
