I actually did not know that there was another Doom release on PSone until just now.
I figured that this was the US name for the regular Doom release on PlayStation.
Now I'll have to hunt down a copy next summer when I go on another retro spree. 😄

I still remember picking up Doom on PSone for the equivalent of just €50, which was an insane price as we were used to paying €72-88 for third party Super Nintendo games in Belgium. First and second party ones were generally a bit cheaper, most going for €72, but sometimes as low as €60, like with Mario Kart for instance.

It was my first time playing Doom and it blew me away.
I really wish we would get a modern port of this version as the atmosphere is quite different from the original one.
