A thousand people will read this.

edit: shortened thoughts

If I get 50 up/downvotes then 500 people of all different walks of life read this, since only the distribution's tails vote. If that's 5-10% at each tail, then the 80-90% who thought the post or comment was mild have seen it and have not spoken.

If I leave it in the showerthoughts queue for ten days, then future people will see it too. Maybe they're from a year away!

Idk. Just sonder

OP hangs up the showerhead. The remaining water pours down their wrinkly body. "How long have I been showering? It must have been hours." Still stirred up by thoughts about shower thoughts they sit down and start to type...

Like when you tell someone you can always see your own nose (look at it), I've been forced to remember I'm not the main character. Hi person somewhere out there c:

Actually, you're the main character. I'm out of render distance and am only visible by coordinate pointer and randomized text messages :>

Just be happy you're in my star system. Aliens haven't gotten a simulation tick in almost a decade.

Current world population is 8 billion. 1000/8000000000 is ~ 1.25*10^-7
So if whole population was a meter, those 1000 people would be smaller than red blood cell

If whole population was a trip around the equator (12756 km), those 1000 people would be ~1.6m

It would be hard to maintain meaningful relations with 1000 people so it feels like a big reach. But on the global scale, that 1000 people is like a drop in the ocean

I think your shitposting is fine

It feels eerily similar to leaving the house and never having a reason to actually talk to anyone (that's also me living on the edge of Nowhere).

Slightly better chances here I guess. I'd say it feels more sparse here but I guess thinking back other platforms either had similar results or other issues.
