Hey all, time to get posting.
Do you guys journal your belongings? I noticed it helps me get rid of clutter-anxiety by sometimes journaling my stuff.
I simply write bunch of categories such as 'clothes' and then list how many pants I have, or shoes, and so on.

No but I occasionally make lists of things to let go. I tend to keep things I perceive to have value even though keeping them causes more anxiety or stress than the worth. Not clothes so much but physical items.
I moved about 1.5 years ago and have been donating/giving away things since then. It is refreshing to get rid of things.

Agreed! My minimalism journey also started with moving, you really notice how much stuff you have and how much anxiety it might induce.
I like the idea of the things-to-let-go list. My journaling also leads to getting rid of stuff very often, although recently there hasn't exactly been a lot of stuff I can throw away anymore. Damn it - decluttering was fun while it lasted.

I don't Journal them, but when I'm having trouble falling asleep, I often try to recall my possessions. Like how many shirts i have, counting the number of earrings I own, etc.

Guess that's the modern equivalent to "counting the sheep" to fall asleep lol. That's actually how I got into journaling my posessions - trying to fall asleep.

I've long thought I should record all my books, and figure out which ones I will probably never read and sell them. Could probably clear out a shelf or two.

No. Feels like just another chore. However, I can see the benefits both in terms of having good control of things you own, and also a good way to get rid of stuff. For example, things that you don’t even feel like you want to spend time writing up are probably things to get rid off.
