I almost hope it "fails" to replace reddit, since reddit was/is crap. I'd perfer if lemmy remained relatively small, without the toxic userbase and spammy content of reddit.

I've long thought I should record all my books, and figure out which ones I will probably never read and sell them. Could probably clear out a shelf or two.

firefox with ublock is the way to go, for me.

I'm considering Home Assistant on a Raspberry pi 400, but don't really have any smart devices to use it for - thinking of buying some cheap controllable power outlets.
I already have the 400, for some reason, so I have to use it for something...

Having tried both types of mouse now, I prefer the scroll wheel on the side so I'll be sticking with the simple cheap version.

Totally agree on RSS and IRC.
Vim, the text editor, is far better than most new alternatives. There is a learning curve tho, but you only have to climb it once.

iphones were the best sony were the worst, it fell apart
i upgrade every two years, on average, with a fairphone I expect to keep my phone for longer because of the reparability
