Boss makes a thousand

I make a buck

That's why I use the company laser engraver

And don't give a fuck

It's only "wage theft"

when they take time from you.

But slack off for what's left:

Do laser engravers have a consumable component? It's not like there's a tank of liquid photons.

Steamymoomilk@sh.itjust.works · 14 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Assuming its a CO2 tube laser. It does have a certain runtime until the tube burns out. And its like $300 for a new tube depending on the model and wattage

Hey boss, here's $300 and I'll use it whenever and as much as I want.

Electricity is pretty consumable

Bread@sh.itjust.works · 5 pts · 1y

The laser part is consumable, albeit very slowly. Moving parts age with wear and tear.

Manzas@lemdro.id · 2 pts · 1y

Kinda, the lens can burn out and the bearings can wear out, but I wouldn't be concerned that's just regular maintenance.

twotonebax@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 1y

Do laser engravers take much time to do a run? I suppose time is consumable if there's a queue of stuff needing to be done.
