This is lovely. The issue is no one in my circle is into both Star Trek and DND, they’re all either one or the other.

Sounds like a job for Star Trek Adventures! There's a Lower Decks supplement book that I just got for a One-Shot with my non-Trek D&D group. I've been teasing them with all the best DS9 memes for a while
