I try not to put too much hope on famous people of any stripe being good people, it will always just disappoint you.
Better to start from the position of "This person probably sucks so best to not get any feelings wrapped up in them, just enjoy their art while you can."
It's such a weird take. "You must have been hurt because you don't want to form parasocial relationships with people you don't actually know personally."
