Wait… if the TASS reporter wasn’t approved, how on earth did they gain entry?

Could I just show up to the white house and talk my way in to meetings between the POTUS and my enemy leaders too?

And would I be politely escorted out if I was discovered?

They were probably already with the President and walked in with him. That's my best guess.

You don't just appear in the Whitehouse. It takes screening, lists, escorts to the right place. You don't just slip in.
