Maybe here we can draw the leaf without corrupting it. For reference I scaled the wikipedia picture to 100 pixels wide and anchored the 8 corners of the side borders. Hopefully we can make it look good!

Alrighty, the leaf is looking good, now nobody freaking touch it.

Filling both sides now, let’s keep it going!

Would it be possible for a mod to make this a featured post for the duration of the event? @otter@lemmy.ca @Kokomheart@lemmy.ca

Sure yes :)
Looks like I don't get notifications for tags on my mobile app, didn't see it till now

I suspect it's because I edited in the tags after the comment had already been made.

FYI: I'm starting with the outline of the left half of the leaf. I have to go to work soon, but hopefully there'll be enough outline for the rest to be filled in (just mirror it one pixel over).

Is there a "faction" created yet
dom@lemmy.ca · 5 pts · 3y
I created one. Search for /c/Canada and you'll find it
lambdabeta@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 3y
What are factions, and where do you search them? I don't see anything in the UI?
EDIT: found them under a link under info. Thanks for setting the faction up!

I dont know what they do outside of identify you as being in one when people look at your pixels
Pxtl@lemmy.ca · 5 pts · 3y
It took me way too long to figure out how to reduce the opacity of the template so I could start. Then I found out I only had 2 pixels?
grte@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 3y
The V key will toggle the overlay completely. Each person gets to place 1 pixel per minute.
Pxtl@lemmy.ca · 4 pts · 3y
The opacity slider seems more useful since you can see the leaf.
Pxtl@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 3y
Also, 1 pixel per minute, max 6 inventory seems cruel. I mean, I get the low pixels per minute, but it means drawing every 5 minutes for optimal output.
dom@lemmy.ca · 5 pts · 3y
It isn't linear. It takes 40 minutes uses to get all 6 pixels.
It's better to place one every minute while you can and then you'll have a nice supply when you come back from a break

First time participating in this. Seems interesting, let's get this flag done!

The leaf outline is finished. It's really starting to come together.
dom@lemmy.ca · 3 pts · 3y
Finished off the stem :)

So should we use the pink to anti-alias sub-half-pixels at all or no?
dom@lemmy.ca · 3 pts · 3y
Once the leaf is more painted, give it a try and zoom out.
I dont think it'll look like AA as much as a pink outline
lambdabeta@lemmy.ca · 4 pts · 3y
Yeah, when I was picking a scale I intentionally looked for one with minimal AA cause I was worried about that. The 180-wide version was full of it, as was the 99.
dom@lemmy.ca · 3 pts · 3y
You picked a good scale imo
lambdabeta@lemmy.ca · 3 pts · 3y
Except for one issue: it's an even width, so now we have the inevitable attempt to make it off-centered but pointy leading to a leafageddon. Oh well, can't have everything.

I'm not convinced that the one dude isn't just a troll

Maybe it's time for this four month old thread to disappear
