APK Availability

Simple question, will there be an available APK to bypass Google Play? And on that note, will Google Play services be required to operate the app?

I use GrapheneOS, and currently only Jerboa meets the criteria (without using microG)

I'm far away from knowledge but shouldn't any FOSS client for lemmy work in your situation? I know liftoff offers the APK also an GitHub.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't believe Liftoff or Thunder require Play Services or microG.

Although, I do love Boost's UI

Infinity for lemmy doesn't need it either though it's currently in early alpha so most features aren't implemented yet.

Probably not since the original did. That'd be quite a big rework, and the dev already has his hands busy transferring it to be a Lemmy app. Play services work on GrapheneOS though, in Apps. Though I assume you don't want to for privacy reasons, which is understandable.
