If we're dressing them like kings, I feel the last one should be a jester, not a clown.

Jesters were typically highly respected members of the household.

I mean, in that political circle, he's highly respected. Just not with the people of the "kingdom."

Is he, though? How many are true believers, and how many are using him as a means to an end?

Jesters were allowed to make fun of their king though.
