Thor's Helmet

Thor's Helmet

Thor not only has his own day (Thursday), but a helmet in the heavens. Popularly called Thor's Helmet, NGC 2359 is a hat-shaped cosmic cloud with wing-like appendages. Heroically sized even for a Norse god, Thor's Helmet is about 30 light-years across.

Am I the only one who sees this as a sloth instead of a helmet?

Yes? Ok maybe I'm going crazy

I see a screaming ghost blasting out of the forehead. I think I need help.

Well, maybe Thor is wearing a sloth for a helmet, fur was popular at the time I imagine.

I see a tardigrade

TurnOnTheSunflower@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 1y (7 replies)

Where?

daggermoon@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 1y (4 replies)

In the picture, in the middle. I see a tardigrade's little head.

egrets@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 1y (3 replies)

There's no way you could see a tardigrade at this scale. They're very small.

daggermoon@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 1y (2 replies)

That's a joke, right?

egrets@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Not at all, they're the smallest member of the bear family - really very small indeed.
