I went Japanese. Miso soup, onigiri, goma-ae, tsukemono pickled things, tamagoyaki and miso marinated salmon

The stranded astronauts are being rescued right now. The capsule is bobbing around in the water.

SituationCake@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 1y (4 replies)

So happy for them. Exciting to see them come back safely.

TinyBreak@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 1y (3 replies)

think of the overtime though

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 1y

Frequent flyer points will be astronomical.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 1y (1 reply)

the danger money

TinyBreak@aussie.zone · 1 pts · 1y

you'd have to assume it was already pretty good given they were flying up in that death trap of a boeing spacecraft in the first place.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 1y (3 replies)

That's good.

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 1y (2 replies)

All 4 have safely exited the capsule and are being accessed on the ship.

Bottom_racer@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 1y (1 reply)

and are being accessed on the ship

Sounds like a good time to me.

Bend over and touch your toes. It won't hurt a bit.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 12 pts · 1y (8 replies)

this is a five minute walk from my new place ๐Ÿ™‚ It's more of a snorkleing at the reef place but there is sand too, if I want big sand I can walk another 10 minutes

You are gonna love it!

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 1y

I think so too.

PeelerSheila@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Ah, very familiar landscape for me. I think I mentioned I grew up near there? I wanted to spend much more time there but my folks couldn't swim and were afraid of the water lol

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 1y

it would take a lot of effort to get into trouble

bogged in the mud flats perhaps or in deep water off the pier

but there are always people around, always

anotherspringchicken@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 1y

Beautiful! Is that a bike path I see?

dumblederp@aussie.zone · 12 pts · 1y

Feel free to fucking cool change anytime now. The dogs giving me evils.

2 waves tonight.

StudChud@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 1y

Ooooo spoiled for choice!

I think I like the bottom pic more: the smoothness of the water leading up to the wave and that perfect break at the top ๐Ÿ˜™๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 1y

Nice. ๐ŸŒŠ

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 11 pts · 1y (5 replies)

Another of my former clients is leaving.

$120k revenue a month lol

Love watching this place burn to the ground.

TinyBreak@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 1y (4 replies)

are the bailing cause the new account manager is useless? or cause you stepped down? Or just the overall shit level of service?

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 10 pts · 1y (3 replies)

Because I stepped down and the new account manager couldn't manage a lemonade stand lol

This is fucking glorious!

anotherspringchicken@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Have they managed to compose an email yet?

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 1y (1 reply)

They can't follow a video I made spelling out how to do literally everything.

The person who was protecting them left yesterday.

Reality is going to hit hard ๐Ÿ˜‚

anotherspringchicken@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 1y

Sounds like things are going to get very interesting for the new manager!

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 10 pts · 1y

Good night everybody. ๐Ÿ˜˜

repomonkey@aussie.zone · 10 pts · 1y (4 replies)

Made chunky bolognaise in the Thermomix we inherited from my dad and it fucking rocked. Wasn't sure about the worcestershire sauce and the chilli flakes, but went with it - very glad I did.

TheWitchofThornbury@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Worcestershire sauce is a hidden gem and should be more widely used imo.

TinyBreak@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 1y (1 reply)

yep, i'll back this. same goes for Vegemite strangely.

TheWitchofThornbury@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 1y

True. But you really have to be careful to balance out the salt in vegemite. Worcestershire sauce has spice & umami but a whole lot less salt so I find it easier to use, especially by the splosh measurement. One of my faves is to dribble it on hot buttered brussels sprouts.

dumblederp@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 1y

I'm in the middle of an instant pot chicken chilli.

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 10 pts · 1y (6 replies)

Well well. Guess who I found sitting on my seat at home? She never does that.

The hot air balloons are out again this morning. Now it makes me think they're up to something

RustyRaven@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Obviously that's how criminals are casing houses these days. Anything out of the ordinary is someone casing your house.

tombruzzo@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 1y (1 reply)

They've figured out how to get around the Ring doorbells and Swann wifi security systems. What do I buy to protect my home from the balloons?

RustyRaven@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 1y

Cover your roof with tinfoil to prevent them electronically scanning you, then put a layer of camouflage tarp over the top so they think it's just a vacant lot.

Bottom_racer@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 1y

It's an interesting idea you're floating. Sounds like a basket case.

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 9 pts · 1y (4 replies)

My kid did a little tidy up in my kitchen yesterday. The kettle was unplugged, the frying pan was put in the cupboard where it doesn't belong, green teabags mixed in with English breakfast and I don't know where the sweet potato went that was on the bench.

SituationCake@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Itโ€™s the thought that counts.

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 1y

Yeah. Just wished she cleaned her room than rearranging my already tidy kitchen.

Force_majeure123@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 1y (1 reply)

green teabags mixed in with English breakfast

In the insurance world this is known as a "total loss"

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 1y

It was a shock when I made a cuppa and it was pale as so I looked at the tag and it was not English breakfast.

TinyBreak@aussie.zone · 8 pts · 1y (6 replies)

gave five guys another go today. Second time for them and holy shit the bacon is so bloody good! Took a lacteeze so I could get that sweet sweet plastic cheese as well. Thats what I was missing the first time. Incredible! 30 something bucks for the bacon cheeseburger, small chips and a coke though. a rare treat then.

useless_modern_god@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 1y (5 replies)

Havenโ€™t tried it yet ๐Ÿ˜”

TinyBreak@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 1y (4 replies)

I definitely listed my coffee grinder too low when I put it on Marketplace (leading to a huge number of responses). I put it on eBay late afternoon yesterday for more than twice that amount and it has sold already. I guess those things hold their value more than other small appliances. And I almost took it to the op shop instead of bothering to list it!

tombruzzo@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 1y

That's good to keep in mind. I have a cafe level grinder I've been meaning to sell but I've been worried about listing it too cheaply

Just came back from a walk around the park. The crickets are very LOUD. My ears are ringing a bit.

They've been driving me crazy here at home for weeks! Even during the day! ๐Ÿ™‰

MeanElevator@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 1y

Getting up when it's still dark, but not too cold is one of life's great pleasures. Seeing the sun rise illuminate the parklands. Seeing people walking, jogging and riding their bikes first thing. And of course seeing rubbish strewn (yes STREWN) all over the court because the rubbish truck driver could not be bothered to stop and clean it up.

Not my bin thankfully, but it's been cleaned up, council notified and note left for neighbour that their bin hasn't been emptied.

TinyBreak@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 1y

excitedly planning out purchases for the van. We threw away/donated tons of stuff and are basically starting again (plus I don't wanna carry heavy glass and china that looks pretty breakable) and we have tons of our own camping gear we can just put in the van but now I'm just filling the gaps. I can finally justify bringing a kettle and toaster. I still love camping in my swag, and I'll still do it from time to time. But camping with power (until I can get a basic offgrid system) its going to be very very nice!

SituationCake@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Lots of rain forecast for tomorrow. Iโ€™m looking forward to it.

Taleya@aussie.zone · 1 pts · 1y

Got tanks on standby and standby tanks also on standby and bought meself a transfer pump that screeches like a beansidhe and sucks like a gold tier cock gobbler

melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Augh. I am not feeling good. Really dehydrated and been sleeping all day because I couldnโ€™t get up. Spent it sipping ginger ale between naps.

Went out and did the bare minimum for garden. Water, then some eco oil and fungicide spray on the pumpkins. Theyโ€™re getting bigger but aphids found them and thereโ€™s also powdery mildew and whiteflies starting.

I found a ladybug on the dying zucchini and thought to move it over to prey on the aphids but wasnโ€™t sure if the sprays would harm it.

One of the peas washed to the surface - it seems to have swelled and might sprout. Covered it with dirt again.

I trimmed my hair last night. I seem to be getting worse at it, but oh well. Tried a new way then gave up and did the usual. It looks acceptable and is back to a more manageable length.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 1y

just rest and drink water , so many hugs

just_kitten@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 1y

I meant to set up my uni stuff last night. Ended up having a 2 hr phone call from a friend in distress... Every cell of my being is happier that I used the time to help a friend when nobody else could've (it was a very specific situation)

But I ended up only finishing data prep at 1pm today. It's now too late for me to collect data today. I have "wasted" the one last suitable day (clear sunny skies) in quite a while and I may not be able to hit my Absolute Latest Deadline of collecting all the data by the end of the month :/

I've accepted that I made my choices (esp slacking on the weekend, which would've avoided this whole situation)... and tbh I had such poor sleep and other issues that frankly I really need the rest more than anything else.

Now to just desperately hope there's just a couple more sunny midday periods before the end of the month ๐Ÿ˜– ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

Accuweather and BoM have wildly different forecasts for next Monday in the northern suburbs. Please let Saturday and Monday be sunny enough, pleaaaase

I've been watching Peaky Blinders because I never have. It's not as good as I expected it to be. Feels a bit generic olde London town crimey. It's not bad and it's well acted but I'm don't see what all the fuss was about.
