I could see self diagnosis as valid if the person can't reasonably afford, reasonably access, or is in some other danger were they to look for that medical care. Elon is in none of of those positions. He's got enough money that he could just pay off a doctor to say he's autistic and dodge the self diagnosis debate entirely, which adds a particular wrinkle to the whole thing.
I'm of the opinion that he's trying to merely say he's divergent as an excuse for being a shitheel, as if symptoms of autism include Nazi salutes and being a transphobe

Self diagnosis is valid.
There's enough bad about him to attack, other than his mental genre.
I'm willing to accept that he's neurodivergent, whatever - I dont judge him for that.
I judge him like any other person, on their morals, ethics, principles, and actions. And his are terrible.
