Confidence in economy means you can spend money because you are confident you can make enough to afford a thing. Of course, this hasn’t been a thing for a while which is why credit card debt is so high, but now everyone is so in debt and unsure they can even make a minimum payment that they just aren’t buying. So, retailers are crying. Boooo hoooo.
