It’s the same as speaking out against Facebook or TikTok practices but not supporting consumer protection.
It’s lip service! They don’t actually disagree with anything that Flock is doing. They’re hoping that dumb voters will confuse their concerns with Flock (getting caught) for their actual positions (dystopian surveillance state), something grossly unpopular if people actually voted.
I personally know plenty who are dumb enough to believe that these people have their interests at heart. It works, and that’s why they do it. Politicians see Flock as a sinking ship. They see an opportunity to deflect and distract from their own nefarious goals. Flock goes down in the medium-term while they wait with open arms for the next generation of tools that they will use to crush dissent and make you afraid to leave your own house.
Very cool. It’s hard to get into file system development because it’s a very small audience that’s willing to test, and it takes years to build trust. Administrators prefer boring and rock solid stability which is not typically conducive to innovation in this area.
Mega corporations are not meaningfully distinguished from the government. We should always assume common goals unless we have strong evidence to support otherwise.
I've seen bubble sort implemented because we had data that said it was faster and was slightly smaller for the exact type data we were sorting and its expected distribution.
It really depends on what you're building. In an embedded shop, lookup tables are first class solutions to most problems. Computer scientists though, 100%!
No worries. They’ll just ship a development version to your machine and see what happens. That should be a good enough test.

Indeed. He’s secretive and staunchly anti-transparency.
He’s firmly in the pocket of corporatism.
Good point! Good point.

A great first step to combating the tide of stupid should include being able to call out dumbass questions.
It's deeply concerning and tends to be a bad omen of atrocities to come.
Congratulations! You've won! 🥂 Enjoy your new cat.

I thought lying was his job.
When the people speak, conservatives lose.
Soon the Fed will be printing enough money to exceed toilet paper production.
Can we not? We’re barely holding together what states we have at the moment, several of which regularly propose leaving.
I love the fat ones.
Best I can do is a Hooters but for foreheads.
They’re counting on it.
I don’t understand what the plan is. Becoming irrelevant and making it hard for users to access your site sounds like a losing play.
Why’d they bring two phones?
I’m impressed they kept the plate so clean.
