Why my smart tv does not have access to my network and is also in demo mode. I still noticed it turning on in the middle of the night so now it’s on a remote controlled power strip

Quite likely. Make sure you clear your cache and cookies. ;) My browser dumps them every time I close it.

"Don’t connect your TV to the internet!" - Alright, but then how am I supposed to get software patches/updates and access online content? And if I connect manullly once a month, for example, who is guaranteeing me, that not all data collected will be transmitted in this moment? (Only few know how to block traffic in their home network.)
