My mum had her finger on the lens for all summit photos she took of me.

I still love her, though.

The frustration, it's hard to summit up.

treasure@feddit.de · 36 pts · 3y (6 replies)

That pun was truly peak performance.

esadatari@lemmy.world · 14 pts · 3y (5 replies)

personally, i know it would have made me feel quite cross about the whole situation.

LazaroFilm@artemis.camp · 9 pts · 3y (4 replies)

That was the best pun. It’s all downhill from here

You underestimate how highly capable we are.

I guess puns are strictly relegated to Reddit, huh?

name_NULL111653@pawb.social · 0 pts · 3y

What you talkin' about, that's peak humor there...

ren@lemmy.world · 72 pts · 3y (2 replies)

Infuriating?? That’s adorable!! One day you might really appreciate that finger in that shot when you think back on your mum.

Squirrel@thelemmy.club · 17 pts · 3y (1 reply)

That's a great point. I appreciate all of the blurry pictures from my late mother-in-law.

ren@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 3y

Think of the thumb as a little ghost of your mum. Making her part of the photo and the moment.

Evkob@lemmy.ca · 59 pts · 3y (2 replies)

My mom's phone is full of videos of her saying "oh shit" because she meant to take a photo. I really need to make a backup of those for when she's gone.

Enigma@sh.itjust.works · 10 pts · 3y

Do it!!! I had 1 recording of my moms voice on her iPhone. Then someone stole the phone. I wish so badly that I could hear her voice, it’s been 10yrs and I’ve forgotten what she sounded like.

intensely_human@lemm.ee · 6 pts · 3y

My dad practices the guitar every morning. Has since he was in the army.

I’ve been recording him on the sly, for morbid reasons.

Vodik_VDK@lemmy.world · 30 pts · 3y

The day will come that you cherish those photos more than the rest combined.

dojan@lemmy.world · 23 pts · 3y (2 replies)

You could remove that in post.

treasure@feddit.de · 29 pts · 3y (1 reply)

Surely I can do that, but I was still mildly infuriated.

dojan@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 3y

Oh yeah I get that. I just meant that the pictures are salvageable!

Was it bright? I've noticed I tend to do this when it's bright and I can't see the phone screen well as a result.

The future is NOW!

Diabolo96@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 17 pts · 3y (2 replies)

Use stable diffusion generative fill via Google colab to fix it for free and probably spend the next few weeks using it for hours and hours. Enjoy.

Seeed@feddit.de · 1 pts · 3y (1 reply)

Sounds interesting. Any links or good guides on how to do that or how to get started with stable diffusion?

Pyroglyph@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 3y

The original guide for the Auto1111 WebUI (the one most people use) is here: https://rentry.co/voldy It's how I got started with it too!

There is also a Docker version maintained by AbdBarho which you can find here: https://github.com/AbdBarho/stable-diffusion-webui-docker (this is what I use now)

AzPsycho@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 3y (2 replies)

Those are super easy to fix. Even the Google eraser could fix those easily.

echo@sopuli.xyz · 11 pts · 3y (1 reply)

you could also just crop it out in most of them

SaakoPaahtaa@lemmy.world · -8 pts · 3y

Or not care. Its some smudge on the edge of the pic fuck it

Potatos_are_not_friends@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 3y (4 replies)

That used to be mildly infuriating for me but I've been playing with a few photo AI tools and that stuff is easy to fix

Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de · 3 pts · 3y (3 replies)

By now you can just download a one-click setup for local stable diffusion, wait for it to install, and use the inpainting feature, don't even need proper image editing software.

Tippon@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 3y (2 replies)

If you don't mind me asking, do you have a link for the one-click setup please? I don't know where to start, but it sounds interesting :)

Tippon@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y

Fantastic, thank you :)

Tronn4@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 3y

Snapseed as well as a plethora of free photo apps can erase those but keep these originals as is for memory

4triks@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2y

Quite lucky, my mom used to cut our heads off on pics !

redcalcium@lemmy.institute · 4 pts · 3y

Now you have an excuse to hike the same mountain again!

padjakkels@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 3y

And she blurred you face!!

intensely_human@lemm.ee · 3 pts · 3y (2 replies)

Except the last 3

javasux@lemmy.world · 16 pts · 3y

those are the ones of her

stephen01king@lemmy.zip · 8 pts · 2y

Those are photos of the mum, so her fingers are still in those photos.

Where is this? Looks familiar, but then again a lot of summits do.

treasure@feddit.de · 2 pts · 3y (1 reply)

This is in South Tyrol in Italy :)

Guadin@k.fe.derate.me · 2 pts · 3y

Thanks, I thought it was in Tirol, Austria near Sölden. Close, but no sigar.

LazaroFilm@artemis.camp · 1 pts · 3y

It’s at the top of a mountain.

15liam20@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 3y (1 reply)

She wanted to be on tghe puctures too. I would be more concerned that she's given your faces the Japanese Testicle treatment.

new_guy@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 3y

No worries. Op uploaded their mom fingerprints on the internet as a revenge.

Korne127@lemmy.world · -2 pts · 3y

That’s not mildly infuriating; that’s horrible and super infuriating!
I’m sorry :(
