NOT_RICK@lemmy.world · 21 pts · 1y (13 replies)

That meat is very rare. The scale is

Rare (essentially bleeding), medium rare, medium, medium well, and well done (akin to eating a leather shoe)

Well there’s ‘blue’ or whatever, which is before raw, so maaaaaybe this would fit that? Ick

CodingCarpenter@lemm.ee · 6 pts · 1y (3 replies)

Correct this is blue. Not even legal to serve in the US as far as I know

kerrigan778@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 9 pts · 1y (1 reply)

It's perfectly legal to serve, steak tartare is perfectly legal to serve

CodingCarpenter@lemm.ee · 3 pts · 1y

I had not considered that. But then again I don't exactly go to those types of restaurants. That's too fancy pantsy

LadyMeow@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 1 pts · 1y

WHAT? Are you implying the US has food standards?

Idk I’ve never tried to order one, in fact never had a steak out. I learned how to cook a decent steak, but then went vegetarian lmao. To me this is…. Yikes.

But thanks for letting me know, I’ve never really seen it but this is. Well, ‘cooked’ just not much lmao

Here’s a helpful chart:

AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 1y

I see that this is a US chart.

Boomkop3@reddthat.com · 6 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Well done is great, if it tastes like a leather shoe you messed up and left it too hot, too long

festnt@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 1y

yeah, if it tastes like leather you went past well done and into congratulations

MxPikachu@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 1y (2 replies)

That's not rare, that's straight up raw.

NOT_RICK@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Yeah pretty much. I guess very rare doesn’t cover it

sem@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 2 pts · 1y

Looks like only one side was cooked? Leaving the other side uncooked?

Smorty@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 0 pts · 1y

ew....

Short form content, not much time to cook :p

MoreFPSmorebetter@lemmy.zip · 9 pts · 1y

That looks well done to me. Disgusting.

Slovene@feddit.nl · 8 pts · 1y

Yup. It's rare in the medium.

latenightnoir@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 3 pts · 1y

That meat looks more lively than I do.

Not this shit again. Every 8 years we have this collective conservation before agreeing that it doesn't matter. Disappointed to see it's making the rounds again, but understandable with everything else that's going on - that is outside of peoples control.
