I'd say it's not for everyone but it's hard to go wrong at this price. Anyone who enjoyed Dishonored or Bioshock should have a good time with this.

The world needs more games like this.

It's a spiritual successor to System Shock 2. I wonder if there are other games so similar to these?

The bioshock series was the OG spiritual shock successor, but it didn't hit the mark for me. Prey is the only one that has hit it for me

Buy this game! You won't regret it. 6 hr play through but each ending is a new experience. Game is dense.

Took me a lot longer the first time but it was definitely a worthwhile experience. Absolute steal for this price.

I'm at 34 hours and I'm at the point I could finish the story if I wanted to; a few other side quests I want to complete first though.

Sounds about right. Six hours is crazy. Not quite speedrun territory but definitely not the norm. I’d say it’s at least 20 hours for a first run, and that’s without completing any of the side quests.

Spacehooks@reddthat.com · 2 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Yeah i think. It was 20 hrs for me first time.

MacNCheezus@lemmy.today · 2 pts · 1y

Sounds about right. According to HowLongToBeat, the median time for a full playthrough is 16 hours for the main campaign (and approx. 22 hours when played at a leisurely pace). Doing all the sidequests and getting all achievements will take about 44 hours.

Either way, that's a lot of value for 3 bucks.

Do they offer a Linux native?

MacNCheezus@lemmy.today · 6 pts · 1y

I don’t think so but it’s rated Platinum on ProntonDB so that shouldn’t be a problem.

I played it on mint via proton with zero issues.
