5k is bupkiss. A slap in the face. 5k doesn't cover diapers and clothes and whatever for 1 year. Let alone the medical bill to have said child.
Asia and russia are trying this and it doesn't move the needle.
I love how these idiots will do anything but actually treat the cause.

Honestly it does come down to money. We can talk about the rise of fascism and lack of rights for minorities and all that, but people who want to have children are going to imagine themselves and their children as part of the solution. If they can afford it.
Maybe a thousand bucks a month child care allowance for the first 5 years. That would at least almost cover one kid in a lot of areas. That plus 12 months paid maternity, and I bet tons of people on the fence would take the plunge.

Yes somewhat true.
But also a bad environment doesn't help.
I see more and more people putting off children till this idiots reign of stupidity is done and maybe we start to rebuild.
But don't believe me, ask reddit or lemmy. As much as money factors in, you have to agree 5k is nothing. Sounds good but reality is needs to be much much more.
