After the mysterious death of erotic-film actress Alta while in the company of sleazy producer Max, her manipulative agent Camilla begins searching for a 'perfect replacement'. After discovering aspiring actress, Julie, Camilla and Max slowly groom her into a mirror image of Alta. As Julie begins to become aware of the sinister motives of her new caretakers, she also starts fearing for her life.

I did note that it credited Lloyd Kaufman with no mention of Troma, but I didn't put together what that meant, even with the year right there in the title, staring me in the face.
