On the contrary, I feel like I've seen mostly articles about capitalist interests: how this is going to raise gas prices, increase inflation, and hurt the economy. Outside of the typical right-wing propaganda outlets like Fox News, the sense I get is the media recognizes this is deeply unpopular and there's little rationale for it. I do wish they'd push harder on those points rather than just reporting "facts," but that's a longstanding criticism.

I don't know if you've ever spent much time in Cuellar's district, but there aren't very many progressives there. It's culturally very conservative, but also more collectivist given the Mexican and Tejano culture, so they don't fit as naturally into the Republican party and are more likely to support moderate or conservative Democrats. That said, Henry Cuellar is fucking awful
