Meta have always done this. Years ago when I used to use Facebook they would constantly change privacy settings so my posts or whatever were visible to my more then direct friends.

Meta is just terrible at making privacy-focused things work as they should and yet they write things like "We care about your privacy"

sooner or later they are either going to require another facial scan, or they decide it cant be opted out of.

I used WhatsApp once for a job interview using a throwaway email and immediately deleted the app. Don't use Facebook, Instagram or threads.
