Re username vs Rowling being a piece of shit, imma just go with SaneMartigan for the new one. I've made an account it's just pending approval.

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 12 pts · 1y (5 replies)

2 people are probably going to quit in the next month or so.

And so the cycle repeats :(

MeanElevator@aussie.zone · 8 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Damn homey, you've got shitty luck with workplaces it seems. Hope this one pans out at least, or something better comes along.

melbourne_wanderer@aussie.zone · 8 pts · 1y (1 reply)

read that as "damn, honey" at first, thought you were getting sassy.

MeanElevator@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 1y

Nothing wrong with adding some zest and pizzazz to a sentence ๐Ÿ˜

Duenan@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Hopefully not many more follow on from that.

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 1y

Hopefully.

Force_majeure123@aussie.zone · 12 pts · 1y (5 replies)

Exit row, window seat, winning.
Omg and an empty middle seat?!

Duenan@aussie.zone · 9 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Melbourne will welcome you back with its horrible weather with open arms!

Force_majeure123@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 1y

It's... Beautiful..! ๐Ÿฅถ

dumblederp@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 1y

Exit row, middle seat is my jam. Window and the fuselage takes up some of my space. Aisle and the drinks cart (and people) constantly bump into my shoulder which pokes into the aisle. Exit/middle and I've got plenty of leg room, I don't get bumped and I can get up for a wee without bothering anyone.

SpinMeAround@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 1y

Hellll yeah!!! Have a safe and comfy flight!

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 1y

bon voyage ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿงธ

TheWitchofThornbury@aussie.zone · 12 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Finally! Some rain. Ok, I could use a bit less chilly southerly wimd, but the rain is wonderful!

Duenan@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 1y

I got dark and cold awfully fast on the way home then the rain hit.

just_kitten@aussie.zone · 11 pts · 1y (5 replies)

Pretty awful day to be out and about but it was made bearable through teamwork (can't believe I said that). I might do some work from home tomorrow and see if the cat can be enticed to enjoy some lap time on the oodie. In fact, I might do a bit of that tonight if I feel up to it... sox was remarkably affectionate when I got back and even did a bit of lap sitting in order to furiously headbutt my gloved hand. I suppose she must love the hand that feeds her the treats ๐Ÿ˜

Duenan@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Iโ€™m glad sheโ€™s warming up to you again, did it always take awhile for her to warm up to you?

just_kitten@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 1y

When she was younger and she lived in the same apartment complex at me she was pretty chilled out even on the first day, though it took her longer to get comfy enough for lap time.

This time around she's started off hot but then gone a lot further. I guess there's not much else for her to do in this tiny apt either...

melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Sheโ€™s settling in fast! Cats struggle with change but she knows sheโ€™s with someone safe

just_kitten@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Yes, I don't think she was too happy at all about having to move and was certainly upset about it at the beginning. But I think food and warmth trumps a lot of misgivings and she definitely remembers me now even though I'm not in the same place.

::: spoiler brief lap shot :::

melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 1y

Oh yes, familiarity and territory is huge for cats! But thankfully so is food and warmth. Sheโ€™s doing really well.

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 10 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Being a sook tonight. Pizza is on its way then sit and read in bed.

Lame.

tombruzzo@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 1y

I hope everything's alright, but sometimes you need a sook to get it out of your system

Force_majeure123@aussie.zone · 10 pts · 1y (3 replies)

And I'm back safe and sound. Home in about an hour. Then feet up with beer and a game I haven't been able to play because I didn't bring my laptop to perth

It was a little cool down at the beach today. A jumper and slicker was not enough.

There was a pair of masked lapwings and that swan followed me until I left the area.

I found a squishy glitter fish fishing lure and a bunch of fishing line which I picked up and threw in the rubbish

SpinMeAround@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 1y

Hai beach friends!!

melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 1y (4 replies)

Bit too cold for a dip right nowโ€ฆ but maybe nice for some fish and chips or a thermos with a hot drink

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 1y (3 replies)

it's dark here now, darker than in the city.

sometimes I bring a torch down to the beach and walk in the dark ๐Ÿ˜ธ๐ŸŒŒ

melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 1y (2 replies)

I wonder if binoculars are enough to look at the stars

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 1y (1 reply)

I don't know, I should get some anyway as there are so many interesting things to see at the beach. ๐Ÿ˜ธ

PeelerSheila@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 1y

I've got some cheap ones and they're ok for seeing stars in a basic way but you can't see like Saturn's rings or anything. Worth it to see the moon when full, looks awesome!

PeelerSheila@aussie.zone · 1 pts · 1y

Thankyou for your beach cleaning endeavours ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

Hmm petrol prices jumping up 60 cents today. Seeing 209.9c for unleaded.

dumblederp@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 1y (1 reply)

I've had split pricing near me for a few days now. 157 at one and 209 at the other, both Ampol.

Duenan@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 1y

Hoping I can make it till payday before it jumps back up again.

fingers crossed

SpinMeAround@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Thanks for the heads up!!

Duenan@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 1y

No worries!

just_kitten@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Oooh shit going up that much again? So much for oil prices coming down or whatever. I'd better fuel up, I'm down to 30%. Thanks for the heads up!

Duenan@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 1y

Yup yup, about half the petrol stations have gone up from what I can see on petrolspy.

I rode to work today, which meant I had to ride home. But weather like this is never as bad as it looks once you're out on the bike

TheWitchofThornbury@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 1y (1 reply)

The aftermath, with wet socks, can be unpleasant.

tombruzzo@aussie.zone · 1 pts · 1y

It's not the best when you get home, but a quick change into warm clothes makes all the difference

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 1y (3 replies)

Tired today. Woke up too many times. Going home early.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Hugs. Do you have a going to bed and going to bed ritual? A favourite ambient music song you play at bed time can help.

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 1 pts · 1y

I like to read for a while before bed and listen to a science fiction story on YouTube as I fall asleep.

Just going to have to accept it for the moment.

tombruzzo@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 1y (3 replies)

I've gotten myself into the habit of going to bed after 1. Even when I try to go to bed earlier I find myself faffing about and staying up until then. I need to try force myself to go to bed earlier and break the cycle

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 1y

jinx. I was just thinking the same thing.

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Try going to bed at 12:45. Don't look at the time once you are in bed. Do this until your body gets use to the new time table. Repeat.

tombruzzo@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 1y

Thanks. That's the way to do it. Go to bed a little earlier and get used to that. I've been thinking I should just try lay down at 11

On what?

And unless you get a tax break for unrealised capital losses then no. Because value goes up and down according to the market mood , it's kind of ephemeral. ( tho of course people do borrow against capital )
