The bar to pull the levers of government is so low these days that stupid people can effectively be just as destructive as an intelligent person, especially when aided by a coterie of sycophants.
The leader is a convicted felon with their only actual government experience being from when he was impeached twice and shouldn't have been elected the first time
See, this is why I advocate for Oxford commas. The way this is written, it makes it sound like the drug addicts are reality TV stars and Fox news hosts... actually, on second thought, carry on.
and honestly, considering the average American, this feels right. It's certainly more representative of us than any smooth-talking orator. We became a nation of charlatans and fools; it is only natural that our leadership reflects that.
Did people forget that it's always projection with republicans? And how they stop complaining about something when they do the sort of thing they usually complain about? And notice how they're no longer compaining about a "swamp" or some vague "them" controlling the people in charge? Because that's what is going on right now.
And they are clearly succeeding in one of the their main goals: Put the blame on the idiots with the public facing positions.

This is not something that just happened like a storm hitting the country or an earthquake.
This was actually chosen by the majority of those who voted. Its a choice and it wasnt even a con. People were warned and still chose this!
Its hard to feelnpitty or compassion when it was self inflicted despite the warning signs and red flags
