Which instance should we move? Now Lemm.ee have shutdown

Any other instance which allow 16+ user?

At first I’d probably try lemmy.zip, as it’s “A Lemmy community for everyone, with a focus towards tech, PCs, and gaming.” (in its own words). It seems fitting.

The instance is great.

Can confirm the .zip admin has been awesome. Not without minor issues, but I'm much happier about the community being run by some good natured guy than a faceless company or something.

Worth noting that .zip blocks UK users (although I can't really blame them. The situation sucks). Content is still visible through other instances (or over a vpn), but the "canonical" source will be unreachable in the uk.

+1 for zip. The admin is super cool. Never seen a single negative talk about it. Faced maintainance mode 2 times in 2 years but it's normal. Admin is a human afterall.

SJW is 16+ according to the legal section, I'm on the SJW Matrix chat and I can confirm with the admins if there's interest.

We're defederated from Beehaw so if there's any active users from there you'd lose them moving to SJW, and vice versa.

Edit: .zip seems to be 18+ per their TOS, Sopuli is 16+, world is 18+, and Beehaw can refederate >:(

Edit2: Sopuli and Beehaw are still federated, Sopuli might be the right choice, but I know quite a few .ee comms are looking at piefed and they've got some nice migration tools but I don't know much about the piefed instances beyond seeing their users and communities once in a while.

Maybe consider a different software altogether?

I just moved my account and two communities I moderated to piefed.social . The migration is pretty seamless, all post on previous community got copied to new one. So far, I see that piefed has pretty good moderation and better filtering tool than lemmy.

That said I will follow stardewvalley community wherever it is. Cheers!

Lemmy.blahJ is been very good to me. LGBT inclusive and great. Just please avoid Lemmy world and shit just works ones, most toxic stuff always seems to come from them imo

Blåhaj is a solid option too, and I just checked their TOS and it's 16+ and they have the best loading screens 🩵🩷🤍🩷🩵
