People who keep saying that what newsom or allred said about trans people is nbd, this is progress toward the future you want.

It won't stop until you're cheering on as trans people are murdered in camps, secure in the blissful assumption that the fascists would never turn their hatred in your direction.

Allred ran republican anti-trans "boys in girls sports" hatred in his own ads. No big deal.

Well, for starters, newsom knows better, and so do you. There are already policies in place that let trans athletes participate without harming the integrity of the sport.

So newsom is participating in a smear of trans people for no good reason. That's not going to stop. centrists aren't suddenly going to grow a spine when it comes to vulnerable minorities. They will accept as reasonable every single bigoted republican statement about trans people, one at a time, until they are cheering along with republicans as trans people are murdered in camps.

democrats have been moving to the right for decades. Do you expect them to stop?

Or do you just expect them to stop before they get to you?

Putting an even finer point on this: when it comes down to equal rights in real life versus a ginned up wedge issue that republicans came up with about games, centrists will handwring about games with their republican bigot buddies when the alternative is standing with trans people.

In my experience, cis people are the only ones erasing us and trying to pass laws and rhetoric that kills us. Sorry it's not easy to "nuance" a voice of frustration around that. Cis people honestly kinda suck. Looking forward to another tone police reply.

So if Ukrainians said that Russians suck, are you gonna jump in to defend Russians? What if Palestinians said that Israeli people suck, are you going to chide them?

If so, then you just want those suffering to suffer quietly, or to suffer "the right way". God forbid they express disdain for the groups oppressing them.

People should be held accountable for their choices and actions. Nobody chose to be born in any country, as a particular race, gender, or any other "group" outside of their control.

Perpetuating the acceptance of prejudice, however, is a choice.

The fact that the University of Pennsylvania swimmer soared from a mid-500s ranking (554th in the 200 freestyle; all divisions) in men’s competition to one of the top-ranked swimmers in women’s competition tells the story

In the 100 freestyle, Thomas’ best time prior to her transition was 47.15. At the NCAA Championships, she posted a prelims time in the event of 47.37. That time reflects minimal mitigation of her male-puberty advantage.

During the last season Thomas competed as a member of the Penn men’s team, which was 2018-19, she ranked 554th in the 200 freestyle, 65th in the 500 freestyle and 32nd in the 1650 freestyle. As her career at Penn wrapped, she moved to fifth, first and eighth in those respective events on the women’s deck.

Removing the records set while competing in women's events seems justified in this case.
