I wonder if these comics have a specific audience. I never find them funny, but people keep sharing them, so there has to be people that enjoy them.

Weird how everyone doesn't have the same tastes.

You should check out bizarro, you'll hate it. But you can ask them the same question there

I feel like this could have been made funny, had it been worded with any amount of cleverness.

I love this man

Everyone complaining this isn’t funny doesn’t realize this was peak comedy in 1985. You are all just jaded.

Oh man, my sides. I'm fucking dying, I don't think I've laughed this hard at anything before in my life. 🤣

I think you mean 2023-16-08 https://www.thefarside.com/ Internet format dates stop both confusion and stupid date format arguments between Americans and Europeans.

Edit: oh no oh no oh no, I meant 2023-08-16, what an idiot!

Imagine saying yyyy-dd-mm is better than yyyy/mm/dd

kamiheku@sopuli.xyz · 6 pts · 3y (1 reply)

Yeah I think they just made a mistake or have misunderstood. Given the reference to "internet format dates" they must be talking about ISO 8601.

david@feddit.uk · 4 pts · 3y

Yeah, that's what I meant!

Classy@sh.itjust.works · 11 pts · 3y (1 reply)

Y/.... D/M? In what universe is this a good format?

david@feddit.uk · 2 pts · 3y

None whatsoever, I meant 2023-08-16

hughperman@sh.itjust.works · 9 pts · 3y (3 replies)

This is the worst date format suggestion I've ever seen.

david@feddit.uk · 4 pts · 3y (2 replies)

I made a stupid, stupid mistake and meant yyyy-mm-dd

hughperman@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 3y (1 reply)

mmyd-dy-my

david@feddit.uk · 3 pts · 3y

Made me chuckle, thanks. Today is Au00-82-g3

Nelots@lemm.ee · 4 pts · 3y (1 reply)

Y/D/M? Seriously? The whole point of putting the broader numbers first is so you can sort them better. Why throw that out the window halfway through?

david@feddit.uk · 3 pts · 3y

Ooops! That's not what I meant!

Solarius@lemmy.sdf.org · 3 pts · 3y (1 reply)

doesn't make any sense to not order the date chronologically. this is the one time i think the americans are doing it better.

david@feddit.uk · 2 pts · 3y

I actually meant 2023-08-16, but I secretly don't think my error is any more illogical than the original. More hypocritical, perhaps!
