I often hear quotes from the dodgeball comedy film when inviting others to play, since I first began playing at age 14 in 2001. The comedy film has helped inspire me to create a film about the sport uniting the world, with one team per country. We would use a style inspired by the NES Super Dodgeball video game, with one 8.5 inch rubber ball in play. Would you be interested in being the representative of your country? I loved that game when I was a kid. We had names for all the special charge throws, like slow ball, lift off, and frisbee.
I always wondered where that version of dodgeball came from. I tried to convince my friends to play that way, but their argument was that they couldn't jump vertically 18 feet into the air.
