14 billion to induce more demand on a corridor that already has eight lanes of road.

Yet they can't get the funding to do the last 500 metres of surface-level bikeway to complete the North Brisbane Bikeway from the CBD all the way to Redcliffe.

I wonder if they're planning road diets on the surface. Maybe some bike lanes, bus lanes and wider footpaths.

(For the record I highly doubt that, but if such a wasteful project were to go ahead that would be the best concession IMO).

[They have talked about "reconfiguring" it to "cater more for local transport, public transport and active transport". That was under Labor though, and even then I think there was good reason to be sceptical.

Take care looking at the picture in that article. It was a mockup done by a third-party, not at the direction of the government.
