Title relates to the following quote:

"But there is another statistic like 'most points without a victory or without a podium in F1' [Hulkenberg has 530, ahead of Sutil's 124]. My point is that statistic speaks for me, actually."

I think Hulkenberg is exactly the type of driver Haas wants. I don't think they care about winning, or even being a front runner.

They're satisfied occasionally scoring points as a mid to lower midfield team. And Hulk is a consistent and talented enough to deliver exactly that, but not much more.

Hulk in the RBR would be better than Perez.

I really hope thru some black magic fuckery he manages to win a championship without ever getting on to a podium. Is that technically possible? I think Lauda has won a championship without starting from pole. Keke Rosberg managed to win a championship with just one win. But having a championship won with no race wins would be crazy enough to be possible.

It's definitely possibly but there'd have to be some interesting happens with the rest of the field. 2010 is the closest I can find to it being possible but even that year our non podium finisher would have needed more help from the racing gods.
