Read the synopsis of some of his stuff, it seems that he’s right up my alley. What’s a recommended first read for a Malazan and Cosmere guy?

There’s this guy ran a successful mayoral campaign in New York without the big money investing in him. I believe someone like Gavin Newsom who’s much more experienced and wealthy than him can do something similar if he wanted to.

The sad thing is that once you're in the system, you need to make compromises to advance your agenda. However, some people on the left see this as capitulating to the status quo and a betrayal of the movement.

You could argue that pushing for radical change (i.e., a revolution) would be too drastic and that you won't get any meaningful change made.

But on the other hand, you could say that we're currently headed toward a massive disaster (climate change), and making incremental changes won't cut it.

I understand why some people on the left are attacking him. To be honest, as for me I’m already exhausted, I’ll just do what I can to ensure my community has resiliency in the coming upheaval and just hope for the best.

The way I usually do it for people doing that to me is to do a loud confirmation like “Okay, you want me to do X on Y, I’m doing this based on your confirmation, which you gave after I shared my concerns.” Usually they’ll say yes, then I’ll do it and it’ll inevitably blows up on them and they stop bothering me.

Rinse and repeat for every new guy that wants to do that.

There’s some testimonies online even from his own Reddit account that alluded that he knew the meaning all along. I don’t know guys, but Platner just screams Fetterman 2.0 to me. Would really love to be proven wrong.
