An illegal price tag on due process: How a small Ohio town’s speed trap scheme got shut down

I find it ironic that this article, complaining about bullshit fees, is mostly hidden behind a paywall

What's funny is I live very close to this town and drive the highway outside of it daily back and forth to work.

Multiple times they will mail you speeding violations and to "go here to pay this or risk court and more fines". When I first moved here I paid one, then asked others is this shit real?

They just ignore it. Multiple other towns do this. So I just ignored it as well. For at least 2 years. Nothing came out of it. No arrest warrants. No court cases. I will get a letter from Will Hills about speeding on the highway with my tag caught in their camera guns. They go right into the trash.

Fuck these guys and all their bullshit scams.
