ZeroFox eh?

I guess the next time their inside sales call, I can tell them to get fucked 4x in each earhole.

They're the same shitstains that sell security services for CEOs and other rich assholes. They show up at security trade shows. No huge surprise, they are the toadys that will lick the boots of the highest bidder.

Try repairing any modern car. Try repairing a six year old car. Without the proprietary software to interface with the car computers, there aren't a lot.of repairs you can do on your own.

I have a 19 Volvo and a 13 Volvo. You can't do much of anything to either without the software and a cryptographic PIN that locks the central electronics module. The only way you can access the cem is buy "renting" Volvo software. Even then, they charge for individual transactions. Want to make a key for your car? Pay for the software then pay another $250 for access to the key making module. BTW, that only permits you to make ONE key.

You've been locked out of your own cars for a long time now. More and more goes behind the dealer paywall over time.

There are white boxes mounted on poles all over the place. They aren't cameras. They were originally microwave traffic counters, but evolved to measure and collect all sorts of wireless data.

Each car that they spot, they can also grab passive WiFi data and Bluetooth. Probably others.

Your car probably has its own WiFi and Bluetooth, so unless its 20+ years old, you've been cataloged and tracked. Also, there are the devices you can see, but assume there are plenty you cannot.

Short of driving a very old car or maybe a motorcycle, you're being tracked. Even if you are driving something old, now you stick out as not being trackable. Unless there are a lot of other cars in this state, you'd be easy to find.

This whole situation is intolerable, but many people have no idea its even happening. Either that or they say something stupid like "I'm not doing anything interesting, why should I care?". Then a few months later, the systems get breached and scummy people can follow you, track your movement and do something to you or your loved ones. Maybe you should have cared.

Joke is on all of you. I know I'm shit, I just don't care.

For some reason, I keep getting promotions and better jobs after I get fired from the last one. I am living the dream, failing up up and away!

I just asked stupid question on a meeting for half an hour about things I should know. Before that, I got shitty with some people because they wouldn't do what I told them. I didn't get into the game to be a dick, but the sad reality is that once you piss all over the drapes a few times, people will just let you do whatever.

I'll be putting that to the ultimate test soon. Performance evaluations are coming and I can start handing out money. If I can demand more for my staff and hand it out effectively, then I can pretty much do anything. That's the one thing that I've not been able to crack yet. If I can buy my employees loyalty (or facade thereof) then I'm golden.

Remember kids, being an asshole works!

Got to experience it in San Francisco one year for a Chinese new year parade. It really is scary, you are utterly helpless and nobody can do anything. Panic at scale is scary.

There was a medium sized tree that I braced my arms against and held myself away, wife between tree and I. Stood there holding myself out for a while but I was getting tired and wasn't going to last a lot longer. Thankfully crowd broke and it stopped.

I still hate San Francisco, always some stupid shit happen every time I went. Fuck that city.
