Uhh, because George Lucas said so. The original trilogy is an analogy for the Vietnam war. Nazis were obviously an inspiration as well, but you can't possibly look at the battle of endor and not see the vietnam parallel.
I think there was WWII motifs because at the time the original trilogy was being filmed, left over weapons, uniforms, etc were extremely cheap to buy and there was a lot of it available. Lot of material for low cost is always good for film.
why not. Things cant possibly get any weirder. We MUST be living inside a simulation, right? Do you suupose everything going off the rails mean the simulation is about to be ended?
We've reached the stage of the simulation where the people running it have gotten bored and are cranking the settings to ridiculous extremes just to fuck with their Sims.
The movie was TOO good. Paul wanted to create a seductively fascist movie, he succeeded. But in doing so he made one of the greatest action movies of all time. It came of as "Sci fi adventure" when what he was trying to portray is how tricky and seductive fascism actually is.

Guess who designed the Nazi uniforms? That's right, Hugo Boss.
RidderSport@feddit.org · 3 pts · 2d
They made them. The designer was someone else however.

Could never tell, looking at this design.

So that is what Starwars in Startrek would look lile.
Also once again: idiots not knowing that the empire is litterly modeled after the nazis

This post makes the MASSIVE mistakes of:
Thinking conservatives would ever know the references to even begin to see the red flags.
Ever expecting conservatives to think the flags that they do see are actually red. The bad sort of red flag, anyways...
