Explored any good shifter mods? I was cross-shopping this and a Miata and the shifter honestly feels like a rowboat in comparison. Love the handling and interior though.

I haven't; I like the way the shifter feels actually.

Hello! Checking in with my '08 Mazda 6 Grand Touring MT

How do you like this car?

I've seen it around and wasn't into it as much as the first Gen. Especially the front.

Love it. I'm still within the break-in period, so I haven't really revved it out yet, but it's amazing to control, and definitely fast enough, even if not an off-the-line monster. Very confidence-inspiring in corners and on-ramps.

Off the line monsters are not that much fun TBH. I'm more of a corner guy. :)

Word. I don't have access to a track or drag strip, but I do have exit and entrance ramps. (responsibly, of course)

Have you considered a technical track? Open track days are the best for your type of car, and they're a lot of fun.

Definitely have, and probably will at some point. I'd like to get some brakes with some more bite than the stock ones first.

_MoveSwiftly@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 3y

The bite won't change. What you need is a pad that can handle the heat you're throwing at it.

The BRZ looks so good in that color!

Thanks! Wasn't my first choice but it's definitely grown on me, especially with the matte wheels.
