Saturn / Kronos is generally a Hellenic deity. But there are analogs all across the Indo-European lineage. The Hurrian / Hittite Kumarbi shares a very similar story to Kronos. The god Shani from the Indian subcontinent also shares very similar archetypal traits with Kronos, with one of his names being called "Saneeswar", literally "the God of Saturn". So while the particular image and name I have on my altar is Hellenic, the archetype is wide and touches several different cultures and languages across the Indo-European canon
Interesting. Proto-Indo-European cultural dispersal has always fascinated me. Would it be okay if I stay in this community as a curious person asking questions. I don’t think I’ll practice myself but I love learning about this stuff.
