I’ve been dealing with some painful bloating today. Not common for me. After accepting it for most of the day, I finally did a google and learned peppermint tea can help.
I just happened to have some on hand. I made some in a large cup with two tea bags. And it seems to have worked. I’m surprised! And relieved.

I love peppermint tea. I have a lot of stomach issues, and it always seems to help a bit.
The worst, though, is when I’m super bloated and it makes my heart skip beats. That’s scary.

Perhaps get the heart skipping beats checked out by a doctor?

I have, and thankfully, my heart is in great shape. Apparently I have a hiatal hernia which is irritating the vagus nerve, causing the PVCs.
When it started though, I immediately went to the doctor. I was scared I was having a heart attack (it’s still a bit scary, even though I know it’s fine).

I fucking love peppermint anything. They even have peppermint pills, but honestly I don't recommend them because then your burps smell like peppermint but you never tasted peppermint.

It's like the pills Peter Griffin gets in the episode where he becomes handsome. Makes em smell like freshly baked cinnamon rolls

I wish I didn't hate peppermint so much. To the point I dread brushing my teeth with normal toothpaste. But it's nice knowing people find it soothing.

Do you like cumin? I can’t stand the stuff, but I love mint. The reason I ask, is that the molecule responsible for the taste is the same in both, just mirrored.

Yeah I don't mind cumin sometimes. It's extremely potent so you have to play around with that signature flavor if you want to balance it out to tolerable levels.

Interesting, I dislike both cumin and peppermint but I can do peppermint tea.

Mint will grow like an unchecked weed. Plant some in a pot and you can have fresh mint everyday. Chew a leaf after dinner. Good for breath and bacteria, good for stomach.

Consuming mint every day will get you stomach problems too (too much stomach acid and you'll feel bad)

"Everything in Moderation" as they say.

That's where the bottle of tums comes in handy!

If you want complete relief, generic simethicone. It's about $0.06/dose in the US.

Yeah mint tea is great. I also bring a bunch of mints when flying in case there's turbulence/shaky landing
