It sucks this app didn't last. It's really the best possible lemmy client imo. Seemed like it was making progress to. Oh well, maybe someone else will puck up the torch eventually

I'm still gonna use it until something fundamental breaks. Imo it's the best looking lemmy app.

Mine to. I still use infinity for reddit

Im using it till it breaks or until another adds navigation swipe gestures
threelonmusketeers@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 357d
What swipe gestures are you looking for? Summit and Thunder have some swipe gesture configurability.
FormallyKnown@feddit.dk · 1 pts · 357d
I just want to be able to swipe left to go back out of a post. Thunder could not do it last I checked but I'll check out Summit

You need to disable comment swipe actions and enable fullscreen swipe gestures. Gesture navigation is the killer feature to me, and Thunder is the main Lemmy app I use.
Thunder Setting: Gestures > Navigation > Fullscreen Swipe Gestures

Okay im sold. Gonna main thunder for a while and see if it sticks

It's a shame, it was the client I found that stayed out of the way the most. It's very function over form which is great. Still usable for now, but I think when Lemmy v1 rolls out there will be breaking changes that require updates.
I've moved over to thunder which took a bit of tweaking to get right but it's a good alternative once you have your settings in place. It's one of the most customisable clients so even though I didn't like the stock experience with the gesture voting, it's easy to tweak.
Blorp looks pretty good as well, it's got a bit of a retro vibe like eternity and I like the pixel art they use to represent your instance. I haven't switched over to it because it still has a couple issues like not being able to quick-save images but it's nearly there.

Blorp dev here. If you make a list of things that are missing, I’ll try and add them. Save image is on my todo list.

Thanks, the only big issue besides that I've had is it conflicts sometimes with android's gesture navigation. It's fine at the start of posts, but if you scroll down into comments and then swipe right, android tries to go back but blorp's gestures take me to the sidebar with the accounts.
Great app though, it's got the best out of the box experience/theming of all the clients I've tried. I've been trying piefed on it and loving it so far.

How recently have you tested right swipe? I think I fixed it a couple weeks ago. It’s not entirely disabled, but I think I fixed the conflicts. Let me know if you notice the issue again.
Give it a try in the latest v1.9.12
ctry21@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 355d
Ah that will be why - I've installed via f-droid and it's on v1.9.11. I tried .12 direct from github but posts aren't loading at all
moseschrute@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 355d
I think swipe was fixed before 1.9.12, so maybe it’s not fixed. I’ll do some more testing.
1.9.12 encrypts the local database for some added security. There’s a chance that broken something. I’m also not sure if switching back and forth between F-Droid and manual install will cause issues. They are slightly different builds (different signing key).
A reinstall should fix the post loading, I hope, and I can look into the swipe gesture issue more.
Edit: I think I maybe have misunderstood your original comment. Are you swiping from the left side of the screen to the right, or from the right side of the screen to the left?
ctry21@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 355d
No luck with the reinstall unfortunately, but I'll leave it til the f-droid build. It may be something to do with Google play being disabled on my device, because if I install .12 from Aurora the app attempts to load posts and then gives an error saying "check that Google play is enabled on your device before opening the app."
I was swiping from the right side of the screen to the left to go back with Android's gesture navigation, but it's conflicting with Blorp's gestures so the accounts page comes up instead of going back to the all feed.
moseschrute@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 355d
Ahhh. I’m an iOS user so I was swiping left to right. I’ll fix right to left swipe on Android.
I should probably run through all the different Android installation methods myself to check for issues. Thank you for your patience here.

I must ask the inspiration behind your choice of name
moseschrute@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 260d
Blorp Blorp sounded like an alien character Rick and Morty could come up with, so it’s inspired by that.
getoffthatchronic@lemdro.id · 2 pts · 259d
I see.

It would be nice to have more granularity on the filter. Also about the filter, is it regex?
moseschrute@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 166d
Filter is not regex, but I have an idea for a content filtering engine that let’s you load in a profile. Maybe the profile is “hide all US politics”. That filter engine would suport regex amonst other things.
Track progress

After a handful of tweaks, I'm fine with Thunder.
threelonmusketeers@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 357d
I moved from Eternity to Thunder, then to Summit.

I really like Voyager
Rogue_Agent@reddthat.com · 4 pts · 357d
Voyager is okay, but nothing even comes close to eternity imo
Oberyn@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 357d
As some one who uses Infinity (KhoalaS fork specificly bcus no additional setup) and dœsnt plan to switch any time sꝏn , chosee Eternity bcus same interface . Also themeable how I like with most colours customisable . Hope development picks back up again bcus want to keep using these clients
