Like, some traditional Mesopotamian mythology made it into Christianity, and Wicca has a lot of Christian influence (it's an American religion from the 20th century, it would be weird if it didn't), but Christians love to do a particular form of ignorant synchritism where they filter all religions through their perceptions. This results in wicca being treated as demon worship rather than bothering to learn anything about it beyond the word witch and some symbols. And they also see mesopotamian demon and dont bother to know that Mesopotamian religions often had complex figures, where gods can be shitty and demons can have positive traits. It's quite ironic how black and white of thought is deeply ingrained in a religion built on principles of mercy, forgiveness, and non judgement.
