Arch wiki is awesome, I've been using Debian and Debian-derivatives for 10+ years and Debian's documentation is frankly embarassing compared to Arch's. There's some good stuff like Debian Administrator's Handbook (outdated tho) and the upgrade instructions for each stable release, but a lot of the Debian wiki information is outdated and riddled with dead links.

Specifically, Debian is for when you're sick of Canonical's bullshit but don't want to learn another package manager or start dealing with rolling releases.

Also, Raspberry Pi OS is Debian, too, and that's literally for children.

Yeah, SUSE is a very competent server distro, basically RHEL/Alma/Rocky for Germans. Neckbeard maybe for Tumbleweed, but that still feels too normie compared to Arch, Void etc.

Gonna go out on a limb and say nobody uses debian on a personal machine.

Sending this comment from a Debian desktop system. And it's running oldstable, because that's how I roll!

And what most websites doing is actually not allowed according to the GDPR, it's supposed to be a one-click opt-out (which would be easy to automate with a browser extension). Unfortunately, the relevant court is in Ireland, which is the EU's hub for US big tech.

I think femcelmemes is intended to be from a general fem point of view, it's just that the Lemmy demographics, and specifically lemmy.blahaj.zone demographics, have a lot more transfems than afab fems.

I think it's a feature of those specific types of mental health issues. Depression doesn't overinflate your ego like e.g. narcissism does, no matter how depressed you are it will never make you think that you don't need help (might make you think that you don't deserve help or can't be helped, though).

Now explain why tankies seem to be extremely fond of current Russia, even though it makes no attempt to hide its rightwing authoritarian nature. "Geopolitics"/"enemy of my enemy" can only explain so much of that IMO.

TBF lots of places completely forbid knives nowadays, especially in the places that you'd need to access for public transport. I don't think I'd even be allowed to carry a screwdriver in my city's main station.

I keep my nails short and I have a hard time with cans, too. Though not a hard issue to solve, even a key should be enough to bend the tab enough to get purchase with your fingers.

Have you tried to actually access mental health care recently? My country theoretically has free healthcare, too, but it's pretty hard to actually access it, especially when you're suffering from mental health issues which make navigating the labyrinthine bureaucracy challenging. And that's if you actually think that you need therapy, which usually isn't true for the kinds of people you're describing. In come the pied pipers telling them that all of their problems are due to brown people, gays etc.

Oh yeah, all my installs are Debian or Debian-derivatives and they're all rock solid as long as you keep to stable/LTS releases.

Debian rolling release versions seem to be for Debian development, not really intended for end users (which is probably why it's called "testing"). Maybe the communication around that needs to be clearer, though Debian can't really do much about all the people who aren't Debian members/maintainers who claim that running testing/sid is fine.
