I saw some gameplay of this a while ago, and it rubbed me the wrong way. It felt like someone played Disco Elysium, thought to themselves "I wish I made that!" and then tried to create a D&D-skinned version of it without any of the writing genius of Disco Elysium.
To me it lacked its own point of view and writing style and just reminded me of myself as a teenager plagiarizing anything that captivated me without any self awareness.
This looks really cool, I like the politics-focus in a fantasy world setting with different races. The stylization of the setting reminds of Arcanum's world (fantasy world undergoing industrialization which conflicts with the use of magic in both an economic and "physics" sense).

I could see why you would say that even from the promo screenshots/trailer video.
Name-dropping Disco Elysium is a bold move that needs to be delivered on.
