Foreplay is generally an activity that makes the partners sexually aroused. Sitting and waiting for one partner to remove all of their fancy jewelry is... not really that arousing.

Sure, but surely the foreplay would begin after the jewelry was removed. Thus, the mood wouldn't be killed. Frankly, the mood is more likely to be killed by the Mr. T-level amount of jewelry.
