Articles from 2022 citing 'if Roe is overturned' are a bit past their expiration date.

This article is from 2022, for anyone wondering before you click

I'm sure he doesn't think this sounds racist

jacksilver@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 364d (2 replies)

I mean, it's probably mostly a distraction from the real issue, which is they have a huge population who can't afford to access to quality Healthcare (regardless of race). I'm sure their numbers would look even better if they excluded all poor people, but he'd rather stir up race issues than class issues.

I think you are giving him far more credit than I do.

Eh, you're probably right

Weep at the fact that America is a country where a senator thinks that's an okay thing to say

Republican Jacky Eubanks said in a recent interview with the site Church Militant

Church…militant? That’s the most unsettling site name I’ve maybe ever seen

"If you correct our population for race..."

Like the Nazis tried to do. The Republican program.

Our maternal death rates are the best if we only count white men!

HulkSmashBurgers@reddthat.com · 11 pts · 363d (1 reply)

Oh what a piece of shit.

billwashere@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 362d

No he’s not a piece of shit. Shit can be useful for things like fertilizer. This dude has no use.

Is it though? They still look higher than the national average.

Karyoplasma@discuss.tchncs.de · 15 pts · 364d

Only if you count women.

Gates9@sh.itjust.works · 10 pts · 362d

This is exactly why we don’t have sufficient public services in this country. You name it; healthcare, education, labor rights, infrastructure development.

Because people who aren’t white would have access.

Louisiana Senator: Our Maternal Death Rates Are Only Bad If You Count Our Most Vulnerable Populations

If you ignore marginalized and oppressed citizens then all kinds of things look great! Wealth, education, home ownership, health. Why did no one think of this before?

CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 363d

Problem solved, then, I guess?

Twinklebreeze@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 364d

Three years old article.

phutatorius@lemmy.zip · 5 pts · 362d (1 reply)

Next, he'll propose counting them with a 60% weighting.

billwashere@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 362d

Wait, this sounds familiar…
