now that I don't have access to Apple Music anymore, 90% of my home pod use is checking the time, setting timers, and asking what time the baseball game starts
I should really look into an open source equivalent to do basic stuff like that without giving all my data to Apple
I do still want to figure out how to set up a connection to my Plex server for music, but until then, I'm happy enough just casting from my phone or iPad to a Bluetooth speaker. I do must be able to just start playing specific music while cooking though
What I want is an egg timer, really. Like with the windup spring and ticking, and bell. I had a ladybug that did it, but cranked it too hard one day and broke it.
Maybe we can get a single purpose digital timer to replace using phones to make named timers idk
Oh damn. Well it should definitely take longer to freeze, at least. When I explode drinks in the freezer it's usually diet coke, beers take much longer. Maybe your freezer is colder too?

I almost always set an alarm when I do this. About 75% of the time I forget to, I have a frozen drink the next day.

I did this once with a can. The can exploded in the freezer.

Timers for everything. Even if I'm standing literally in front of it, it gets a timer

I am really happy with my digital timers from thermoworks. They are expensive but I think worth it, I use them for me and my kid all the time

Did this with a lukewarm fresca before leaving for the trip I’m on. I remembered to get it before leaving! Thanks Vyvanse!

Helps to set an alarm on your phone as you're putting drinks in the freezer.

Impossible, the technology isn’t ready yet

If you put strong enough beer in there it doesn't really freeze. Or at least it won't explode.
Hawk@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 4 pts · 355d
I've had many strong beers explode doing this.
leftzero@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 5 pts · 355d
They clearly weren't strong enough.

Possibly, it's usually the day after I notice though!
The alcohol might not freeze, but the water does. (Freeze distillation is a thing!). So yeah, expanding water = broken bottle.

Seriously, those beers would have to be like 20% ABV to avoid freezing.

You just have a much higher chance that this will happen
zr0@lemmy.dbzer0.com · -8 pts · 355d
That’s just like saying there is a much higher chance of losing a marathon if you have been diagnosed with a broken leg. Surprise surprise.
BuboScandiacus@mander.xyz · 8 pts · 355d
Yeah, that's what I'm saying
Because, you know... it's true.
kameecoding@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 355d
Not sure if you know this but you have a much higher chance of losing the marathon even if you have undiagnosed broken leg.
zr0@lemmy.dbzer0.com · -4 pts · 355d
That does not make any sense, what you just wrote. Chances are equal.
HikingVet@lemmy.ca · 3 pts · 355d
How many people run in a marathon? Only onenof thise people can win it.
zr0@lemmy.dbzer0.com · -3 pts · 355d
So one participant just magically has a higher chance of winning it, gotcha.

Oh so you're intentionally an idiot.

My guy, the only rule on this community is to just not do this. It's also the only pinned post.

My guy, this rule was published just 1.8y ago. Give me some time to adjust, will you?
HikingVet@lemmy.ca · 4 pts · 355d
Your accou t is younger than the rule and 6 months is a long enough tine to have read it.

That was actually the joke. Good job.
