a friend of a friend was taken by ICE today. we are trying to figure out how to help them. here are current problems:
- we don't know where they are or how to track them
- we aren't sure who to contact. so far all the ideas we've had are to get in touch with the ACLU and SPLC but i don't want to sit here and do nothing while we wait to hear back from who we've already contacted

Try calling your representatives if they are friendly. Not that this will help much but at least push that you cannot identify where they are and if they are safe.
Other than that, legal council which likely comes with a cost.

A lot of cities and areas have been setting up mutual aid groups and hotlines for people to call. I would do a search online for those that may be in your area.
I don't know much about the specifics, but I know there are searchable databases that ICE keeps with detainee's info and location of detention. You will need their full name, date of birth, and country of origin at the very least but likely additional info as well. Warning tho, there's also been many reports of ICE not properly adding every detainee into these searchable systems, so keep that in mind..
