I wouldn't go out with someone who supports far-right politics, that's an easy decision to make.

Good afternoon, I don't believe you are a person of equal value to myself, would you like to make me dinner sometime?
Obi@sopuli.xyz · 11 pts · 348d
Pretty crazy to think that's literally how it worked in the past.
Goldholz@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 3 pts · 348d
Other things i find crazy: barcodes didnt exist until the 70s. But supermarkets already existed in the 50s!

I mean, I get it. Someone voting for Trump indicates a set of morals I'm incompatible with. It's a quick shorthand that says a lot about a person.

Or lack thereof

Yeaaah

It's not 100 percent accurate but the easiest way to tell is by what kind of sunglasses he wears.
givesomefucks@lemmy.world · -20 pts · 348d
This joke is old and super tired...
If you can't tell someone is a piece of shit person without explicitly asking if they voted for trump...
You're gonna end up with one of the many shit people who didn't vote for him. Or just a trump supporter not stupid enough to be honest about it.
optissima@lemmy.world · 23 pts · 348d
It's not that they cant tell, it's that this is an easy shortcut to check for.
givesomefucks@lemmy.world · -18 pts · 348d
It's not a shortcut...
It's a huge red flag.
But no matter how big a single red flag is, if that's the only one you look out for, you're going to miss a shit ton of other red flags.
It's like saying "I never date a convicted felon" while actively dating a drug smuggler you just saw cut someone up with a chainsaw...
I'm not saying you should start dating convicted felons, I'm saying you need to do more than that.
Catoblepas@piefed.blahaj.zone · 18 pts · 348d
Nobody said this is the only red flag that exists.
Lucky_777@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 348d
It's just another one on the checklist. But the checkbox has a star next to the text. Meaning deal breaker.
givesomefucks@lemmy.world · -8 pts · 348d
That might be what you mean...
But it's not what the picture in the post is saying
Dreamchiever@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 348d
Yeah genius, cause it’s a meme and not a dissertation.
aramis87@fedia.io · 3 pts · 348d
And before it was a meme, it was someone tossing off a quick comment. They weren't writing a dissertation, they were trying to get on with their day.
SoftestSapphic@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 348d
Who did you vote for? XD
Deathray5@lemmynsfw.com · 1 pts · 347d
They are not supporting Trump. They are saying the same bad traits that lead to someone voting for him leads can be measured in more reliable ways.
A trump supporter can lie much more easily about not voting for Trump than they can lie about having good values.
Similarly bad people can vote for good things. It's a good metric for quickly filtering people but it's not an automatic pass.
Deathray5@lemmynsfw.com · 0 pts · 347d
Though this analysis and his comment seems unnecessary for such a short meme

Lots of people pretend to be good to win the game of dating.
